Day 9 & 10 - Our first taste of wild camping

Leaving Lochranza campsite behind, we decided to try wild camping for a couple of nights until we’d get to the Isle of Skye. Our first stop at the entrance of the King’s cave on the isle of Arran was a great secluded spot. I did wonder if we’d get woken up early by a coach load of tourists going on the cave’s trail, but luckily none of that happened.

We woke up early and headed back to Lochranza via Brodick to get the ferry for Claonaig. After stopping to Oban earlier, we parked Izzy on a small white road at another Forestry Commission spot called Eas na Circe. At the foot of some woodland and right opposite the Loch, we both felt free and “Into the wild”. It felt great to not have to rely on anything or anyone and use our own resources. Jamie even had his very first own wild camping shower! I do feel a bit of a whimp, but it’s just that little bit too cold for me. I’m very proud of my Yorkshire man though!
